MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – According to preliminary data, Belarus’ international reserve assets totaled the equivalent of $8.532 billion as of 1 August 2024, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.
The country’s gold and foreign currency reserves went up by $173.5 million (or 2%) in July 2024 after drop by $52.9 million (0.63%) in June 2024.
Foreign currency assets and monetary gold make up the largest share in the structure of international reserve assets of Belarus. According to the National Bank, the amount of foreign currency in the reserves totaled $2.942 billion on 1 August 2024, decreasing by $5.4 million (0.19%) in July, with monetary gold at $4,213.3 million, up by $162.5 million (0.4%).
According to the main monetary management guidelines for the year 2024, Belarus’ international reserve assets are projected to be at least $6 billion at the end of 2024.
