Police Investigating Theft of $38,000 in Antique Currency in Indiana County


INDIANA COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — State Police in Indiana are investigating a theft of $38,000 in Center Township.

According to a report released by PSP Indiana on Wednesday, August 28, troopers responded to the 2400 block of Luciusboro Road, in Center Township, Indiana County, regarding an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a theft investigation.

Police say the incident(s) happened between 7:00 a.m. on August 10 and 3:22 p.m. on August 21.

According to police, $38,000.00 worth of antique U.S. currency and Marion Center bank checks were stolen.

The involved vehicle is a 2015 Nissan Sentra.

The victims are a 54-year-old female and a 64-year-old male, both of Homer City.

Police say the arrestee is a 37-year-old Homer City woman.

This investigation is ongoing.

The suspect’s name was not released.
